Alexandria, a Sydney suburb was once a highly industrialized and developed area. It was named after a beautiful princess, Princess Alexandra, a Royalty. At that time, say by 1943, this suburb was known to be a manufacturing hub from bricks to airplanes. There were about 550 factories in the area of 1,000 acres where the manufacturing took place.
It was an inner city suburb located on the government areas of the City of Sydney, approximately 4 kilometres south to Sydney CBD. Alexandria was also known by the name Birmingham of Australia.
