In the years 1960′s and 70′s, Bidwill was led by the development of public housing. Recently the suburb has said to be associated with many problems i.e. social and economic resulting in an increase in crime and violence.
Commercial activity is said to be less in number as Bidwill primarily being a residential area. Bidwill is bounded by St Mary’s and Mount Druitt having bigger shopping centres, railway stations and banks. In nearby areas like Plumpton and Emerton, service stations and supermarkets are said to have been existing.
