The suburb being a part of Macarthur region placed beneath the area of the City of Campbelltown. It is 58 kilometres to the southwest of CBD Sydney. With a number of streets named after breeds of horse, the main road here is called Clydesdale Drive.
The land originally belonged to the Tharawal people as their culture seems to have been preserved in rock engravings, axe grinding grooves and shell middens. The neighbouring areas comprise of Catherine Field, Currans Hill, Blair Athol, Eschol Park, Eagle Vale, Campbeltown, Claymore and Woodbine.
