Bossley Park was named after John Brown Bossley, an English Chemist. The area saw developments in years 1890 and 1895 when schools and post offices were erected. The Italian immigrants shaped a large part of the community following World War 2.
The government area to Bossley Park is the City of Fairfield. Located 36 kilometres west to Sydney CBD, Bossley Park is in the greater Western Sydney area. A number of schools exist in the area that include Bossley Park Public School, Bossley Park High School, Prairieville Public School and the Catholic run Mary Immaculate Primary School.
