Horsley Park is located 39 kilometers west of the Sydney central business district. It is part of the local government area of the City of Fairfield and is part of the Greater Western Sydney region. This semi rural suburb is located 5 kilometers west of Wetherill Park and 11 kilometers North West of Fairfield. The area was once home to the Cabrogal Tribe of Aboriginals until European settlement began in Fairfield during the early 19th century.
Colonel George Johnston was gifted the land in 1804. Following his death the land was passed to his daughter Blanche, she married Major George Nicholas Weston in 1829. The homestead he built on the property was named Horsley after his birth place in Surrey, England. Horsley Drive has been so named as it is the road that leads into Horsley Park. In 1931 Horsley Park Public School was opened. There are still a small number of farms in the area.
